I have had issues with the emergency brake sticking in the past. When I started it up yesterday, the brake was frozen in place and didn't release as it has in the past. The real question is that when I turned off my engine, it stayed running and knocked violently, even when the key was removed from the ignition. It did this until I released the clutch. It is doing the same thing this morning. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this issue?

Thanks for your help. Happy Holidays.

The engine is dieseling/run-on, could be caused by high idle-throttle plate not fully closed. Loose or broken vacuum hose, incorrect ignition timing and failing igniton switch.
