Hi guys,
I have a Sandrail dune buddy which has a 4 cil. Subaru engine. Now it requires some work on it but the only thing I know about the engine is that it was taken from a Subaru. The number on the engine is EA81 560465 I was told that it was from a 92 vehicle but that is not for sure.

This engine is similar to the old vw beattle engine. It also has adapted a Mitsubishi turbo.

Is there I way to know what model of car used this kind of engine?

That would help me a lot in order to find replacement parts.

Thanks in advance.

You say you know it is a subaru engine. From 1990 to 1994 subaru had a 2.2L engine.

I did a little checking around, but I couldn't find a 92 model that used the EA81. The latest model I could find was a 87 brat.

Here is a link to the page I found, the top 3 choices used the EA81 and have engine parts available depending on what you need, they might not have everything.

Good luck, I hope this helps. :)

Thanks dojcsany619 It helps also, I am narrowing the model. So far I think (nor for sure) It is a 1.8L Turbo that probaly was used on the 87 Brat that you mention.
Could you paste the link where you found that information please?
Thanks.
