When starting the car it clicks and loses all electrical power

When I turn the key to crank the car it just clicks and loses all electrical power. Then I release the key back to the run position it the power comes back to the dash.

Do you have a voltmeter to check the battery voltage?

Your battery may be too low to start the car.

Also, the cables being dirty can cause this as well.

I would start with checking the battery.
