Hello,

I have been having a problem with the engine stalling at an idle so it was recommended to me by a personal friend who is a mechanic in Florida that the distributor coil is going bad so I replaced the distributor. After I changed it the vehicle ran fine but the engine light was on. I tried to pull a code but no codes were pulled from the computer. Since the car was running fine I figured that was the problem. I took the car for a ride the following day and it would hardly run. The light in the dash was out but the engine stalled and under acceleration it was bucking bad like it was not getting fuel. Normally when I turn the key on before I start it you can hear the fuel pump but that is not the case now. The car when it runs the engine is running smooth so I do not think it is electrical and I made sure I put the spark plug wires on correctly when I replaced the distributor.

What possibly could be the problem?

Hello,

Okay, we need to test to see if you are getting voltage back to the fuel pump. To do this you will need a helper and a multi-meter. If you are unfamiliar with how to use a multi-meter I have included a link below for you to go to.

Okay, I have included the step by step factory guide to test your fuel pump, along with connector views, Fuel pump relay location, and wiring diagrams for you in the diagrams down below. Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks.,
