Intermittent A/C not engaging

When it engages it's all nice and cool, even in traffic. But, sometimes it does not engage. So, I take my trusty furring strip wood stake and a hammer, small wack and it works. So, if you can't fix it with a hammer, it must be electrical?

Good morning.

What do you hit to make it work?

If it is the compressor, check the connectors. Make sure they are clean, not damaged from loose or burned pins.

I use a 1x1.5x12 wooden stake with hammer. I'll check the wires and get back with you.
