When I checked for vacuum leaks I didn't hear anything, but I didn't spray anything on the hoses I just checked to see it there was any wear and tear holes or splices and didn't see anything like that.

Hi,

I would take it one step further. It's hard to see if there is a gasket problem or leak in a vacuum hose.

I'm not sure and the mechanic can't figure it out either.

I read through all three pages of this thread. Have you ever replaced the crankshaft position sensor? It was mentioned toward the start, but you indicated it was hard to access.

Let me know.

Okay. I asked because this is a common symptom of a faulty sensor. Regardless, let me know what you find.

I noticed when I added a tachometer to my truck that there's a little switch under the steering wheel on the bottom by the hood lever. It was not connected but there's 2 wires that go to it just hanging there so I taped them off and left them unplugged. It turns out that it's an anti theft switch my question is, should I plug it back in and does anyone think that could be a cause of shutting off or being cranky sometimes?

Hi,

It won't hurt to try. Give it a shot and see what happens.

Let me know the outcome.
