The clutch goes to the floor, but the 4Runner will not shift when the vehicle is running. I turn it off and when I turn it back on, it will work for a second, but when I try to change gears it will not shift again.

I'M LEANING TOWARDS YOUR CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER EITHER BEING

LOW ON FLUID (ADD OR BLEED)

A LEAK IN THE SYSTEM (REPAIR/ ADD OR BLEED)

OR

THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDERS INTERNAL PARTS ARE NOT ALLOWING FLUID TO SEEP PAST THE PLUNGER, A SO CALLED "INTERNAL LEAK" (NO FLUID GETS LOST) THE PISTON/
PLUNGER MAY "PUSH" SOME FLUID, BEFORE IT SEEPS BY OR IT MAY NOT PUSH ANY AT ALL. IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE SEVERITY OF THE LEAK. IT REALLY DOES NOT MATTER, THE FIX FOR THIS POSSIBILITY IS REPLACEMENT OF THE UNIT.

HERE ARE TWO CODES THAT MAY ALSO HELP "A124" AND "TRT41"
