Message "Service Traction Control", "Service Stabil Trak" on the Dash with the ABS and traction control lights on. After the lights came on, the transmission was shifting hard and shuddering, especially for 3rd and 5th gear.

I ran the ABS codes and got C1100-00 and C0045-5A.

Is there a connection between the Traction Control and Stabil Trak issue and the transmission issues? The transmission shifted fine until the lights and warnings came on yesterday.

As for repairs, most things online are pointing to the Electronic Brake Control Module, does that seem right?

Hi,

The C0045 is specific to a faulty left rear wheel speed sensor. This would set the lights on that you indicated, so that is where I would start checking. Yes, it could be related to the EBCM, but let's start with the cheaper possibilities. Also, it could be affecting the transmission as well.

What I need you to do is check that sensor to see if it is working. All you will need is a voltmeter or a multimeter. Follow the directions in this link:

If the sensor is good, confirm the connector isn't damaged, corroded, or loose.

If everything checks good, then we need to check the EBCM. I attached the diagnostics below for you. Let me know if you are comfortable performing them or if you have other questions.
