Hi Mark,

I attached a document that shows how to disable the system. However, when you turn the key on does the theft light stay on? If so, we may need a scan tool to see if there are codes because there may be an issue with the key. There are times when the battery dies and it basically "forgets" the keys. If this is the case, there will be a code for invalid keys.

Lastly if you have another key, does that key work?

When you use the key to start the vehicle does the theft light stay on?

If so we need to get the vehicle scanned to determine what the theft light is on for. It will have some codes that will tell us why it is not starting. Unfortunately there is not one reason so we would be guessing at the cause.

Okay. So if the theft light goes off, then that means it is allowing a start to take place. Which means we need to dig further. Can you take a video of what the vehicle is doing when trying to start it? This may help identify what else it could be. Thanks

Okay. Then we need to check base engine. Let's pull a spark plug and connect it back to the ignition system and then hold it against the block to see if it sparks. Then use some starting fluid in the intake and see if the engine fires. Obviously only do the starting fluid if you have spark. If no spark we need to start there. Thanks

Okay. We need to move onto fuel. Either use some starter fluid and open the air filter housing and spray some into the engine side not through the air filter. Then have someone attempt to start the engine. You don't need to spray a lot but it needs to be enough to get pulled into the engine. I would not expect it to fully start but if it is firing for a second or two then we know we have a fuel issue.

The other way to test this is to see if we have fuel pressure. You should have about 51 PSI at idle so I would expect to see something close to this while cranking. Here is a guide that will take you in more detail about how to check fuel pressure:

If the security light comes on and then goes off, then that is normal. It performs a self check and then turn off when it passes. When the light stays on or it flashes is when there is an issue with the security system. This is why we need to see if there is a fuel issue.

As for the battery fuse, I would suspect the system it is attached to would not work. However, I only show a fusible link which is different than a regular fuse for the battery itself. However, if you find any fuses that are not working, we need to replace them.

If you have no fuse issues then we need to check the fuel next. Thanks
