At first, my car was taking a second and had a delay with starting. Lasted a couple days. I was in denial but kept going. Went to leave work and it wouldn't turn over. Tapped the starter and it turned right over. Next day I found a ride to get the new starter and after a horrendously difficult time, got the starter replaced. There was no change. It wasn't even trying to turn over. Called my dad to check my work, he verified I did it correctly and said it could be the battery, despite all lights and every thing coming on. Every thing fine except it not wanting to crank over. Took the battery and old starter to O'Reilly and they verified the starter was bad, battery was at 110%. I'm at a loss. I've checked relays and such, but I'm no pro. Any ideas! Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon,

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view. Check the crank fuse for power in the start position to see if you are getting a signal from the ignition switch.

Hello,

In the diagrams down below I have included a staring circuit wiring diagram for your vehicle. Please check the wire going from the battery to the starter. Please make sure that that the connections are clean, tight, corrosion free, and making good metal to metal contact. Check the electrical connector at the starter as well. Finally inspect the ground strap from the engine block to the body frame. In the diagrams below I have also included a guide on known faults in an automotive electrical circuit as well. If everything checks out, then the starter is probably going to be bad right out of the box, which wouldn't be the first time, and unfortunately, not the last time that this has happened. Please let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

I just went out to try getting it going in neutral with no luck. The lights and stuff still work so I'm assuming battery is still fine, however when I go to turn it over, it makes a click sound and nothing happens. I just hope the engine isn't locked up. I was kind of wondering if it might not have anything to do with the security system. My key-less entry fob kicked the bucket awhile back and I get honked at every time I unlock and open the door manually. Is there a safety setting flaw with the security system?

I believe it is 12V. However, the day I replaced the starter with a new one with no change, the battery charge was at 110%.

The battery needs to be 12.5. If it is 12 the battery is almost dead.

Is the security light flashing when you try to crank it over? Also let's check the crank relay under the hood. here is a guide and the relay location below:

and

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.
