My daughter is driving grandpa's car and has had problems a couple times. She has had to turn the key four or five times before it finally starts. Each time she turns the key it sounds like it wants to start but will not, then finally does. Today it did it again and I was ready to leave work to go help her and it started, but she said she had to step on the brake pedal. Which does not make sense to me.

I will give it a shot when I get home for more details.

Any ideas? Battery? Starter?

good evening my name is Roy and I will assist.

it sounds like a fuel delivery issue. I would have the fuel pressure checked especially in the morning when all this happens.

OK, I would start with basics. Check the battery and make sure it is good. I attached a guide for you below

Check and see if you can hear the fuel pump run when you turn on the key. I would check the pressure as well.

Also, check for spark to be sure the crank sensor is working.
