My car has sat for a couple years, just recently we started it up and when battery is good the car will start right up just fine, but as soon as you put it into gear either it will turn off or if you play with both the gas and brake it will slowly go an inch. It has no force then it will turn off just before you know it. What could my problem be?

Good evening,

A couple of years is a long time to sit.

I would drain and flush the fuel tank as the fuel is no good at all. I would also replace the fuel pump, flush the lines up to the injectors.

I am also concerned about the injectors as well. They could have separated fuel contaminating the injectors.

CAUTION: Do not smoke or work near an open flame when working on the fuel pump.

1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION
2. REMOVE FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER
- Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
- Remove the 5 screws and service hole cover.

INSTALLATION HINT: Check for fuel leakage.

3. REMOVE FUEL PUMP LEAD WIRE.
