My 2000 GTP has 66,000 miles, and it will just turn off while driving intermittently. Hasn't done it in about a week. I took it to a shop and they hooked it up to the computer but found no codes or anything. And it just dies no service engine light nothing. I was told by a gm mechanic it was a crankshaft sensor, but wanted the confirmation, is there an easy way to test it? Please let me know and thank you for your time.

I have exactly the same problem with my 2000 Bonneville; I just changed the crankshaft sensor today and it seems to works fine; however, I think it will need longer time to make sure that it fixes the problem. I was advised by GM service mechanic to change the fuel pump and filter, wire plugs and sparks (which I did all of them and spent a thousand bucks!), But the problem still exist. I will keep you posted should the problem occurs again (since it happens randomly) after I changed the crankshaft sensor.

I have a problem with my Pontiac Transport Van it started to stall, and would start right away, now it stalls and will not start fro anywhere from 1/2 hr to hour. I was told it was fuel pump or filter, so I got them changed and did the same thing, so it is back in the shop, have not heard anything yet and have no friggin clue what the heck is wrong, I have had it with this van. However have sunk so much money into with having to redo the whole frontend, so will never get my money out of it, so have no clue just a hugh headach.
