2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Car wants to stall

When im driving my 2000 grand prix gtp automatic the Techometer will sometimes drop completly to zero and the traction control light comes on but im still able to drive the car like nothings wrong then other times ill be sitting at a red light and the same thing happens except this time it stalls and the battery light comes on but its a brand new battery I bought 2 months ago so it cant be that. Then when im driving sometimes the car jumps like its gonna stall. Any ideas? Thanks

Check for codes. Some of the national brand autostores, will check codes for free.

I'd check that the battery cables/wires are all clean and tight on both ends and the charging system is ok.

If it only dies at idle, check the idle air system, check fuel pressure.
