Engine Performance problem
1995 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix starts when cold and runs good. During cold weather I did not have the following problem. After the car is driven and warmed up and turned off for a half hour when restarting it starts and acts like it is going to run then it will begins missing and quits running. It then takes approximately two hours from the initial stopping time and it will start and run perfectly. It has not done this if the car is restarted within 5-10 minutes of the initial starting time. The warmer the outside tempeture it seems the worse the problem

Hi Stephen Peters, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Next time it acts up do below don't wait. Check the fuel pressure if its within specs and clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensor.
