Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Automatic 150000 miles

I have a 93 Grand Prix 3.1 that was running great, then out of no where it started running ruff mid trip and died. I have replaced the fuel pump relay. I was told to replace the ECM relay, but after purchasing it, I can not find where it goes. I replaced the fuel filter. The car starts fine and runs fine in Park, even if I give it gas, the engine revs up fine. Once I put it in Drive it starts to chug and when I give it gas and start to go, it dies. Any ideas?

You may have a TCC solenoid stuck (torque convertor clutch), this locks the convertor at speed for better mileage, and should release when brake is applied or below 30MPH.

Try disconnecting the TCC connector, usually a square 4 prong connector located on side of trans.
