So I just went to the store and on my way back home my 92 pontiac grand prix (3.1L) just decided to die one me. Kind of bogged down for a quick second then died. Everything works fine, lights, blinkers, has a charge and will turn over. The engine isn't getting spark. From past experiences i've found it to be the distributor cap or wires, but thats on much older cars, don't know much about newer cars with computers.

Several things can cause this. The most common is the crank sensor. Was the check engine light on prior to this?

I had a feeling that was the problem. According to my manual, it is on the right side of the engine at the end of the crankshaft. Have you checked there?
