I have a Pontiac Grand Am GT, which as close to 108000 miles on it. Since I have had it I have replaced the starter and battery recently so I am confident those are not the issue. Lately, when I try to start the car it will randomly not turn over. I have noticed that when I put the key in the on position whenever the check engine light does not turn on the engine will not turn on. I just turn the key off and on again until the check engine light comes on, then it will start. I took my car to the mechanic the first time this happened and they were stumped. They ended up replacing the crank sensor, which didn't help any. Any ideas? Thank you!

HI there,

Thank you for the donation,

I would be considering a faulty ignition switch, you should be able to check this with a multi meter or a testy light when the car fails to start.
