Can you be more specific about what it is doing? How long after you start it does it get overheated? What have you checked? Have you checked the coolant level? Is the cooling fan running? Is the heat working (blowing hot)?

Please let us know so we can help you.

It does not overheat all the time the cooling fan does. I replaced the air filter, the heater does not work and there is a leak somewhere, but have not found out exactly from where.

Okay, the first thing to do is to find the coolant leak. You can borrow a cooling system pressure tester from the local auto parts place. When the engine is cold, you will simply open the radiator cap, hook up the pressure tester, and pump it like a bicycle air pump to 15psi. Then just look for a leak and listen for a hissing sound. Take a couple of pictures of what is leaking and post them here. We will go from there.

Here is a more descriptive how-to guide on the cooling system pressure test: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/radiator-pressure-test

Also, be sure to check the engine oil. If it is milky looking or muddy, then you have probably a cylinder head gasket leak and need to get an experienced mechanic to fix that. Coolant has leaked into the oil and that is what you are seeing there.
