my car started overheating the pop up appeared something about coolant and the temperature needle was going all the way to the H. i was able to get home and eventually put antifreeze and it was okay. now 2 weeks later the temperature needle started going to the H but back down. checked the coolant there was still some in there. so i took it to the mechanic said it is the fans not cooling the motor down and the fuse box is bad and needs new fuses. but i was talking to a friend and they said it can't be the fans and the fuses should be one or the other. please help! PS: my car had been stalling on me sometimes when i stop somewhere real quick and i get back in and start the car but it will stall n shut off. the mechanic said that once the fans are fixed everything should run smooth. i don’t really know. some one please shed some light.

Good morning

Is your friend a technician? If he is not, I would give the benefit of the doubt to the mechanic.

How did the mechanic come to this conclusion? What proof does he have? He should tell you this since he is asking you to spend money for this repair.

Did you drive it home overheated in the beginning? Driving overheated can damage the engine.

Do you have anything in writing for this repair?
