1999 Oldsmobile Bravada Front Wheel Drive lots miles

I took my car to a mechanic and he said that my wheel bearing is going out. I was told that they no longer take the casing apart and just fix the bearing but that I must have a kit, the whole hub or something installed. I'm just checking to see if that is truthful.

Yes that is true. I just replaced mine. Is yours a bravada smart track all wheel drive? If so make sure it comes with the wheel sensor. Easy to install yuorself if mechanicaly inclined. I did it myself. Cost of part was $106. Tax and all. (Autozone). Prices vary.
