Hi, my husband did a project on the car listed above. It was 1.3 engine and converted it to 1.6 engine. The guy who bought it took it home we followed him home and car was fine. The next morning hubby was meeting him to weld exhaust, since two days the car not starting. He has done all wiring loom from scratch. He says when he starts the car without ignition barrel it fires up fine, but when he puts ignition barrel on tries to start it there no spark. He replaced ignition barrel and fuse, still not starting. Help please

So he can use a screwdriver to turn the ignition switch and it starts and runs fine? But if he tries to use the key and ignition lock cylinder he loses spark?

I would start by checking to outputs from the actual ignition switch. It may be worn or faulty and using the ignition cylinder itself is not making the connections. Looking at the switch it is possible that using a screwdriver could push in on the connections while the cylinder only rotates and he gets no power to the ignition circuit.
