So I bought this van conversion to road trip in about 3 months ago. Drove it down to the Florida keys and everything has been fine. Or as it was when I bought it I should say. Anyway, was leaving the keys after 6 days of driving this in a row and pulled off to snap a picture. The van was off for 10 minutes and when I came back to start, a buzzing sound started when I turned key. I found the culprit, it was a satellite relay for aftermarket security system. I believe an ignition shutoff-switch. So for last 2 days I've been in parking lot I had it towed to. During a hurricane and crazy wind and rain. Deleting the old security system. When I bought it, I was told it had already been disabled. I haven't had a problem so I assumed that was correct. But the relay that buzzed was strictly for all the aftermarket security. I have deleted a lot, but it was all to security. Most were "tie -in" connections and not cut and spliced. So very little needed rewiring. To be honest, I think it was only 1 wire that was cut and diverted and I have diverted it back. It was to main harness of security. Okay, so long story short-ish. I replaced battery and starter to be sure, but it's not those. It seems to be electrical and I'm leaning towards a lack of signal from key switch to starter. When I turn key to crank; nothing. I do hear a click coming from around engine (engine is in center of console as this is a van). It's dark now and I've been at it for 2 days so I haven't figured out what that click (possible relay) is but it's getting some electricity somewhere. But when I turn key to crank, no starter turn or anything. Please help as soon as possible as I'm stranded out of state and starting to stink with no shower. Thank you in advance!

Hi,

We need to get you a shower. LOL You made me laugh when I hit the end of your post. LOL

Okay, I attached a pic below of a portion of the wiring schematic. The first thing I need you to try is this. See if it starts by placing it in neutral. If it still doesn't, I need you to check the IGN A fuse under the hood. In addition to checking the fuse's condition, confirm there is power both to it and out from it. This is important to know because power is supplied to it via a fusible link.

Also, if there is power, switch the starter relay with a different relay having the same part number to see if that makes a difference.

Pic 2 shows the locations of both the relay and the fuse.

Here are a couple of links you may find helpful:

Let me know what you find.
