Looking at purchasing this truck. Owner told me ywo weeks ago vehicle overheated. He shut down but before that happened, antifreeze spewed out of reservoir and some got sucked into intake filter (has open K&N intake filter kit) because he said the exhaust smoked like crazy. Viewed truck, truck started with no issue or smoke but it wants to shut off when accelerator is pressed and once released, car idles fine. Could this be the VAFM/MAF, something that could be cleaned or something major?

It could be a vacuum leak or MAF sensor problem. Can I ask if the check engine light is on? Here is a guide to help get us started:

I would do a head gasket test because these engine had a history of it.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
