1994 Toyota 4Runner Engine bogs down in acceleration in gea

Changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, cleaned the intake manifold with new gasket. Throttle position sensor, air flow meter and harmonic balancer. Engine performance no better than before the above repairs made. Repair shop then suggested the fuel pump needed to be replaced.
The engine runs fine in neutral revs up with no missing or bogging down. Bogs down under acceleration in gear only.

Have the fuel pressure checked with a mechanical gauge first, then check fuel pressure regulator for fuel in the vacuum line which would indicate a ruptured diaphram.

If fuel checks out, look at ignition advance, usually best to check it with a scan tool while driving in live data mode.

Also check EGR valve and perform a backpressure test on the CAT to see if it is clogged or partially clogged.
