1999 Nissan Maxima V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 95000 miles

My car was giving a mileage of about 16 miles/gallon and now it has suddenly dropped to 10 ! What could be the reason for this sudden decrease? Can it be a problem with the filters?

Hi there,

I would start with a full tune up, plugs & all filters Have a code read as well, problems can crop up that will affect the economy and not set an engine fault light. O2 sensors can often not display as a set code fault light, and they will affect the economy.
