Do you have a check engine light On and when was the last tune-up.

Could be a problem with IACV-AAC valve

There is no check engine light

My old engine and gear were replaced with another used engine and gear. After installation, I had a test drive and it was good. Subsequently a problem developed. Each time you engage the gear the engine running drops and goes off. I guess an electrician adjusted the switch or something and it started working. The engine has been high even after tuning to the lowest. But it doesn't just stay high, the tachometer sometimes takes a dive and it barely resists going off. Sometimes it goes off.

Check the IACV_AAC valve, FICD and throttle position sensor and airflow meter comeback with some results.
