1993 Nissan Maxima Air conditioning

The air condition works, but it only works on high. I can turn it on and off, and control it on what level it works at, which only works on high. When I click the level: level 1, 2, and 3 doesn't works it just stays there and doesn't do anything, but when it is on the highest level level 4 it works. Can you tell me what I can do to fix this problem.

Hi nissan_maxima_1993,

The blower motor power resistor is bad and has to be replaced to rectify the problem.

Thanks for answering, and can you tell me what shop to buy this at? Does autoparts have it? To install a new one in do you just take out the air conditioning control inside the car and see it?

The blower resistor can be purchased at parts stores.

You need not remove the control. Resistor is plugged into the blower motor assy and can be access from under the dash at passenger side.

I am not able to find any diagrams for your vehicle and have posted a diagram for a newer modle. It should be similar.

It was completely different
it was what the people at auto zone told me
and after I got it I open the thing uder the glove compartment and the thing look different not like the thing I saw in that website.
And the electrical string that plug into the blowermotor thing it has only 3 electrical thing poking out. But the one I order had four.
At the end of the blower motor thing I wasnt a square thing at the end
it was lots of metal rods sticking out of it in the middle it was long and around it was getting shorter.
And can you tell me where you can buy the one that like mine that I desribe?

Can you upload a picture of the part on your vehicle?

I am not able to find any diagram in out database and googling comes up with diagrams that does not fit the description you provided.
