I just installed a new stage 2 clutch kit about 700 miles ago. I drive without hitting boost for about 500 miles for brake in. I got on it hard the other day and when I got to about 10 psi boost I heard a loud banging sound. Could hear it over my load music. When I got home I realized my clutch was making a lot of noise. It gets better or worse depending on pedal position. I can still shift gears if I don't push the pedal all the way. If I push it all the way down it grinds and can't shift. The chatter is there all the time but like I said it changes depending on pedal position. What could it be? Damper springs? Or something else entirely? Please help.

Good morning,

Sounds like the pressure plate or the throw-out bearing.

You will need to tear it down and inspect the clutch itself.

Can you upload a video of the noise so I can hear it?

Okay, thanks. I have another kit on the way. Going to tear it back down when it gets here. Hopefully everything in this kit is good. Thanks

You are welcome.

Make sure you either have the flywheel cut or replace it.

Sounds good. I just do not want it to chatter when you let the clutch out.

I'm really just hoping it not and input shaft bearing. At least you gave me a little piece of mind.

If it was that bearing you would have a roaring noise from the bearing.

Okay, then most likely there is no input bearing damage at all.
