My vehicle started shifting problem by not shifting into 3rd and 4th gear but 1st, 2nd and reverse gear. Then I diagnosed it using Bluedriver scan tool and It recorded P0891(transmission relay always on), P0841(low/Reverse pressure switch rationality), P0731(gear 1 error ratio), P1775 (Torque converter clutch latched in Lu position), P0846(2-4 pressure switch rationality), P0732 (gear 2 error ratio). Then I used the factory diagram from all data to trace and noticed that low/Reverse pressure switch circuit and 2-4 pressure switch circuit melted together at the pressure switch/solenoid pack assembly connector. I separated the two circuit and P0891, P0846 and P0732 gone and the vehicle began to shift into 3rd and 4th gear. Later I noticed that the vehicle was too sluggish on 1st gear and hardly climb bump and little hilly slope. Then I diagnosed again and recorded P0841, P1775 and P0731. I decided to change the solenoid pack/pressure switch assembly and replaced it with used one and the vehicle stopped going reverse, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. Above all it retrieve back P0846 and P0732 and deleted P1775, P0841 and P0731. I have changed 3 different pressure switch/solenoid pack but it was still doing the same, I interchanged the low/reverse circuit from its original terminal 2 to terminal 1 and 2-4 pressure switch circuit from 1 to terminal 2 to see whether the basis of the fault code will change from P0846 to p0841 and its still showing P0846 and P0732. At this point I don't know whether its the PCM or the transmission itself is now the problem. I have done all the troubleshooting step according to fault code description on all data but still I am not getting what I wanted, please anyone with direct solution please tell me, let me solve this and started using my vehicle.

Good afternoon,

The first thing I would do is change the fluid and filter. Check the bottom of the pan for any debris.

The 841 is the key. It could be a stuck pressure switch not allowing the clutches to apply. A pressure test will confirm this. I would follow this chart.

The other concern is the gear ratio code. That indicates slipping clutches that may mean the transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Roy

Good morning, thank you so far for your response. Although I haven't check the transmission filter and pan. But my greatest concern is this fault code P0846 and P0732 that's permanent. When I engage reverse, you will notice that the engine sound will drop showing it has engaged but to lock up with pressure. I also feels that it was because of this code:846 that makes clutch to slip. You mentioned of pressure test, I don't have the transmission simulator kit for test. But please if you can help me to identify the 2-4 pressure switch on the solenoid/pressure switch assembly, to make it easy for me to check solenoid valve on the valve body to see if it is stuck or block and I will service it, since you said:The 846 is the key. It could be a stuck pressure switch not allowing the clutches to apply.

Okay, I attached the procedure and location for you below. You will need a scan tool that can access the transmission and see if you can command the solenoid on and off.

If I command the solenoid on and off, what sign will I noticed and is it through the Actuation test on the scantily that I can use to command it on/off?

As long as you have access to actuation testing on your scan tool you can see if the solenoid is working.

I have done it before and I didn't notice anything that's why I ask you what sign would it make to show it is working?
Secondly: would engine be running or only ignition on?

The ignition would be in the on position only. If you do not hear the solenoid working, then most likely you need to check the wiring as that sounds like the issue.

I have checked the wires before using multimeter and factory diagram to check for resistance and there was continuity on the circuit, I checked the voltage on the 2-4 pressure switch circuit, the reading was above 0.5volts but Alldata stated if the voltage is above 0.5v, repair 2-4 circuit for short to voltage, then how can I repair the circuit?

That is a wiring harness issue. You will need to uncover the wiring and check for damaged wires. Short to voltage means the power wire and the ground are shorted together somewhere in the harness.

I attached the diagram for you.

Put your red lead on the 2-4 solenoid pin and the black lead on the return wire.

It has nothing to do with your issue.

If it starts in the park and neutral only, then it is good.

Why I asked is that, when I shift the gear lever from P -R, the Indicator light will work well but if I want to Shift from N -D, the indicator light will go back on reverse and now jump to drive.

Okay, I would replace the position switch for that issue but It will not affect the shifting issue with the transmission.

I attached the procedure for you below.

While you are there, you can replace the switch. That is the procedure for the switch.

Good morning! I started the short to voltage test as you directed:put your red lead on the 2-4 solenoid pin and the black lead on the return wire.
1. When I put the red lead on the l/r pressure switch pin2 and the black lead on the return wire it reads:0.4 to 0.5volts.
