Will not stay running

Truck will start up but shut off within 10 seconds. I can turn it over again and it will not want to start. I have to push the gas to the floor and it will sound like it wants to start but it doesn't. Why? Shut the key back off recycle it it will start up for about 3 seconds and then shut off.

Is the check engine light on?

I would start by checking for fuel pressure and spark.

Hi on my truck I put in a new fuel pump new filter. I check fuel relay and the fuse.I got spark. When I start my truck up it runs for about 5 seconds and it shut off. My fuel presser goes down some. And I am getting black smoke smell like gas like you flooded it and I did check the fuel shut off and it was down.
