Her mechanic told her that her problem is a "cam plug seal". Is there such thing? They did a valve cover gasket repair and I am thinking that maybe they want to go in and repair their mistake but do not want to admit the mistake and have her pay another fee to cover the labor of having to redo the valve cover gasket? My description of her cars engine size and all that are probably way off. I just guessed at a couple of the details.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Yes there is a cam seal. To replace it, the valve cover must come off. I attached a picture of the rear of the engine. The round section between the valve cover and cylinder head is the location of the seal.

Let me know if this helps. Also, I am surprised that wasn't replaced. It should have at least been checked. Maybe they can help you and lower the labor since it was missed. That's just a thought.

Take care and let me know if you have other questions.

Joe
