I was driving down the freeway going about 68 mph and for some stupid reason I pushed the peddle to the floor, my car then made a sickly noise like the rpm's revved real high but sickly the car did not go any faster. I think I heard like a pop not loud but not sure if it was even my car. Anyway I took the exit right after to get on another freeway but I had to slow down around a corner and when I accelerated the car made that loud sickly noise and would not go any faster then five to ten miles an hour. I coasted down hill to the exit where it died. It started up again but when I pushed the gas it died. I towed it to my house it started one more time and died. Now it wont start at all. It turns over but no start. I changed the fuel filter, no change. Any suggestions. I do not want to take to a shop?

The first thing you need to do is scan it for any trouble codes. Did the check engine light or reduce power message come on the information display? Also if this is turbo, inspect all hoses to the turbo. The plastic hose that goes towards the back of the engine could have popped out. Inspect the fat turbo hose on the front passenger side traveling next to radiator to make sure that did not pop out and under the intake is your throttle body. Inspect that hose to make sure that has not popped out also. Any of those hoses popping out will cause no power and stalling.

Hello ALAZURE,

If you decide you would like to conduct the scan yourself here is a link to an article that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself, also I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

Once you have the codes please get back to us so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for visiting 2CarPros.com.

Kindest regards,

That code is for an internal failure with the transmission.
