2001 Mercury Sable AIR CONDITIONING WON'T WORK

Air Conditioning problem
2001 Mercury Sable 6 cyl

The car has been checked and the compressor is fine, and the freon is full. You can hear the compressor kick on then goes off when it does not detect the freon. Do you have any idea what the problem can be?

Suspect cycle switch on low side
also if low on refrigerant would do the same

I just topped off my refrigerant level. Low side should be over 25 psi. Works nice.
