I have a 1997 Miata with 160k miles, I have put a new motor and tranny in it recently. His morning the clutch went out on me on my way to work. I can start it in nuetral but I have no pressure on the clutch petel. If I try to start in first or reverse the car will start to lurch forward, so I am assuming that the clutch itself is ok. I can find the slave cylinder but where is my Master clutch cylinder(I am assuming this is what's wrong with my car)? I have followed the lines and connot locate it. If you could help that would be great.

Try looking up under the dash to see where the master is located. Sometimes the pivots are on the opposite side of the pedal for convenience. If you lost pressure, look for leaks, at that mileage I would probably do slave/master, just to avoid being back under it again in a few months.I call it the "old tire syndrome" fix one leak, more pressure creates another leak.

Would you suggest a change of the lines between as well? Or just the slave/master switchout?

It is usually a hard line from master to near slave, then a rubber/plastic to slave. Probably wouldnt be a bad idea.
