I recently ran out of gas in my 1986 lincoln town car. I put in two (2) gallons of gas from and the car started. It went long enough to get to a gas station, where I put in about 4 more gallons ($10). The car started and went for about 1/4 of a mile where it cut off and hasn't started since. Your thoughts?

When you run out of gas in your car 95% of the time it burns out the fuel pump. Gasoline acts as pump lube. Good luck
