In January I replaced the driver's side wheel bearing. Since then, the ABS light has been on, and I haven't been able to pull a code from the truck. I replaced the ABS Wheel Sensor on the passenger side wheel bearing last weekend to see if it will fix the problem. No dice.

On Tuesday driving to work the truck started to jerk to the right while I was driving under 55-60MPH and when I was decelerating. It's not going to cause me to go off the road, but it is definitely noticeable.

Any ideas about why this is happening? I have not been able to get under the truck and check the front end. I assume that it might be something to do with the passenger side caliper or brake pads? Would a bad caliper cause the truck to do this at lower speeds?

Any insight would be extremely helpful.
The truck is a 2007.5 Chevy Duramax 2500 HD.

Thank you very much!

Hi,

Does this only happen when you apply the brakes, or can it happen when coasting? If it is with the brakes, then you could have a caliper issue. Interestingly, if there is a pull when applying the brakes, commonly the issue is due to a delayed response from the opposite side caliper.

Are there any noises that would indicate something with the new wheel bearing is seizing? Is there excessive heat from either of the front wheels after driving?

If this happens randomly and not necessarily when the brakes are applied, I would check for play in the ball joints, tie rods, the drag link, pitman arm, and idler arm.

I attached a pic below and highlighted the components I'm referring to.

Try this and let me know if anything is found. Also, let me know if there is anything specific that causes it.

Take care,

Joe
