Car has 54,000 miles small 6 cyl. Vehicle suddenly died after a poof of black smoke. Mechanic thought that it might be a MAF sensor, which we replaced no help. Then he replaced several igniters, still having probelm. Suggested that we bring car to Jag dealer which we did. They replaced the ECM unit but still having probelms. They now think it is the Body Control Module and they are quoting $4300.00 to repair. Another Jag dealer quoted me $480.00 for the same part. So I phoned the Jaguar headquartyers in New Jersey and they currently are looking into this dealer and my unresolved probems. My mechanic thinks it might be a TCM unit. Very frustrated. Thanks

Don't replace items willy nilly, plug in a ORB 11 Reader in diagnostic socket and read fault codes ( these readers are available at most spare shops for a 100 dollars or less) or borrow on from hire shop or friend Simple Process Come back for more help if needed
