Car shuts off

When I am going to turn my car on it will, but it will turn off when I put the first gear.

Why does the screen says engine power reduce and it will not run more then 20 mph and then turns off?

You need to have it scanned for codes try an auto parts they may be able to do it for free. If not a mechanic will need to the scan.

Does it shut off as soon as you put it in gear? Those cars had a problem with the torque converter failing apart which caused the engine to stall when in gear or shifting into first, does it stall if you put in neutral?
