Vehicle will not start every time

SUV will not start all the time. I have to spray starter fluid in the carburetor to make it start. I was told by carpros. Com I need a new fuel pump. Do I have to change the whole fuel pump mechanism or just the fuel pump?

Either way. The complete unit includes the pump, level sender, strainer, and new tubes and hoses plus the lock ring and seal for about $150.00.

Or you can change out just the pump if the rest of your hardware is in good shape. Just be sure to get the strainer as well as the pump only option does not include that.

I prefer to do the complete unit as it is faster and you get all the in tank parts and new fuel line fittings included in the warranty, but it is entirely up to you.

Rockauto. Com plus $8.00 -$10.00 shipping on them. If you are buying local it will be more. OEM pumps are $130.00 and $150.00 depending on your tank size.

If you are not in a huge rush you can save a lot of money buying parts there. I get my parts local at wholesale and there are times RockAuto beats them, even after shipping on the same part!
