1990 Honda CRX 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

MY 1990 HONDA CRX WILL START WHEN THE ENGINE IS COOL BUT ONCE IT GETS HOT I YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO COOL DOWN AGAIN BEFORE I CAN START IT AGAIN. I CHECKED TO SEE IF I WAS GETTING SPARK, THAT GOOD. I CHECKED TO SEE IF I WAS GETTING FUEL, THATS GOOD ALSO. I ALSO REPLACED THE MAIN RELAY THAT ONE OF THE TECHS AT HOND TOLD ME THAT THE MAIN RELAY MIGHT BE BAD. THEN ANOTHER GUY TOLD ME THAT IT MIGHT BE MY IGNITION COIL BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE TO FIND THAT ON THE HOND TO CHECK IT OUT. OTHER THAN THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO WITH THIS CAR.

You may have spark, but is it strong spark? Get a spark tester and measure how good the spark is. It probably is the ignition coil.

I don't think its a weak spark because you said the car turns over when cold. If your getting spark then is obviously not the ignition coil that is located inside the distributor (internal coil). Have you checked the cooling system? Some Hondas when they are hot, will not start. Check at guage. Check at upper hose if its cold. Not a 100% thing, but possiblilty. Could also be ignition coil getting to hot.
