Hi I am not sure if anyone have similar problem like mine or not, I have a 1998 Civic with 122k miles. Everytime the car idles for about 4 to 5 minutes the temperature gauge starts to go up, but once I start driving again the temperature goes down. Can anyone help me with this? I tried turning on the heater but temperature will keep going up as long as I am not moving.

Hi 1998civic,

Check for low coolant level in radiator. Are the radiator fans working when idling?

I replaced the termostat on the car, and also manually start the fan. Pour some coolants in and now it's fine. I haven't really put it to the test yet by sitting in traffic, but I think it is looking good so far. Thanks for the answers.
