Is it the sign Brake with a bracket? If yes, then it is the brake fluid level that you need to check. If the indicator is below the door ajar, then it is the brake blubs.

My brake warning indicator light won't turn off. I took it to my Honda dealer and they determined it was the sensor that was broke. They told me that the sensor was part of the master cylinder after 2001. I have since had the brake pads replaced front and back, the lines have been bled. I've replaced the master cylinder. The brake fluid is full. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you have a parking brake level sensor that is not working can you look to see if it is connected?

The BRAKE light stays on in the dash board. I have check the fluid, it is ok. Brakes are not making any sound. I replaced pads (all wheels)about 10,000 ago. The TCS light is also on. I think that is the Traction Control System. Is it save to continue to drive this car. Honda said to replace the pedial switch, I did, no change. They said to replace some may control unit for about $400.00-$500.00?

It's safe if you consider not having ABS or traction control to be safe. With the weather going on right now it might be rather important. It shouldn't effect the regular brakes.

I just did a lot of brake work including replacing the master cylinder, now the brake light keeps coming on at random. When I tap the cap of the master cylinder it goes off. I have no problem braking. My question is, is the sensor in the brake cap bad and does the master usually come with a new cap? I didn't have this issues before the replacement.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Chances are the switch is going bad and sticking (or the fluid is low). The switch is in the cap and basically functions as a float. As the fluid goes down, the plunger drops. At a specified point, it actuates the light.

You can try removing the cap and moving the plunger up and down to see if that takes care of it. Other than that, it needs replaced.

By the way, this cap doesn't come with a new master cylinder.

I attached two pictures. Picture 1 shows that the cap is the switch and picture 2 is an exploded view of the cap and reservoir.

Let me know if you have other questions or need anything.

Take care,
Joe
