Electrical problem
1993 Honda Accord Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Manual 200000 miles

Strange new problem with my old but very reliable honda accord. While the car is running, the radio and heater/fan stop working (other things like turn signals, wipers, lights seem to work fine); also the brake light comes on for no reason. At the same time, the clutch makes an odd noise similar to the noise made when the battery is low and the car won't turn over. I just replaced the battery and was told at that time I needed a new alternator, but today a shop specializing in electrical repair checked the alternator and said it was working fine.

Weird, never seen like this before. Does it has an alarm / remote starter?

It used to have an alarm which I disconnected years ago -- no remote starter. Could it be a problem with the key? One shop said I might have an ignition switch problem.

Well, first what I would do is with a test light. Check for power at the ACC wires when the car is runing. If you can do this yourself, then this problems can be solved easily, no guessing.
