The engine just started running rough the other day during startup. It continues to perform sporatically during acceleration, ie. Gear changing pulls or is late.

I changed the rotor, distrib cap and plugs.

I pulled the codes the other day before the tune up and it stated that all cylinders were misfiring.

P0301 - P0306 codes. There was an EGR valve code and a P1399 (unknown) code too.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

P1399 is a temporary code for the misfiring and since all cylinders are misfiring, it could be the ignition coil or lean fuel that is causing the problem.

The EGR code could be due to a clogged EGR valve or its passage under it. Cleaning the passage ans valve might solve the problem. However the valve might need replacement if the code reappears.
