Driving in traffic on the freeway, traffic slowed to a stop. The car then stalled. At the initial stall, what's weird is that the steering wheel locked up. The key in the "on" position and the lights on the dash lit up, but the steering wheel had locked when the engine stalled. It took a few minutes to be able to start the car again. At first it would only click, then finally it started. Also, the gas gauge seems to not work, showing incorrect fuel levels. Help? Car runs fine, idles normally and usuallly starts right up. The fuel gauge had been a problem though so would a problem with the fuel lines cause the car to stall and lock up like that?

Because of the wheel locking and clicking when it would not start I suspect the ignition switch. It controls the wheel locking and the engine running.
