Gas gauge stays on full

I own a 2005 Honda accord and I overfilled my gas tank. Know the gas gauge stays on full. Ive drove it 48 miles and its still on full. I over filler the gas tank.

The fuel level gauge float can be accessed under the rear seat. You can remove it by taking the bolt out in the middle of the bottom part of the seat just above it. You have to move the pad a little to remove it. Then you pull it up and turn it and then pull it out. There are two hooks that hold the front down on the bottom of the seat pad.

You will see the access assembly in the middle and you can try to bang on it with your hand or a rubber mallet first, gently not real hard. Then if you have to remove it, take out the three bolts for the cover and I think there are only three more and you can lift it out. Simply tap on the float if it is stuck. That should fix it.
