I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX. I drive it about 100 miles a day and really have no problem. My wife has driven it several times and it dies while she every time while she is driving. It takes several minutes to start again. It died four times in a 20 mile stretch this summer. The last time this happened to her the key light came on. From reading other posts I am thinking I may have a distributor problem or relay swith issue. Any suggestions?

I replaced my computer 2 years ago. The day after the computer was replaced the check engine light came on. The mechanics checked everything twice over and found nothing and the light continues to stay on. It has been on since.

Ignition switch recall.

Call the Honda dealer and give them the VIN. I'm bettin that's what it is.

I've got a 1999 Accord that had the same problem. It was not the ignition switch recall, I had a intermittent and slowly failing Fuel Pump relay.

Same exact symptoms, it's an inexpensive part to replace.

Thanks I think you just solved one of my problems. I have a 99 Accord that is doing the same thing and I also thought it was the ignition switch recall so I had it replaced but I am still having the problem so I will try your solution

If you want to confirm before replacing the relay, grab the Service manual. Use it as an electrical reference and test the voltage with a multimeter to be certain.
