When idling my a/c will not blow cold, blows very cold while car is moving. Even if I hold the rpm around 2000 the a/c still won't blow cold. Also if I am driving with a/c on and roll the window down the a/c vents start blowing out fog and the air gets warmer. Secondly at idle only with the a/c on the car will start to overheat, if I turn the a/c off the temp stays well into the normal range. No check engine lights. Compressor belt does squeal only at start up if the a/c is on. At idle I can hear the compressor coming on and off. Compressor is less than one year old. Radiator is also less than a year old. Whatcha got?

Hello -

Please do a couple of things.

Please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O'Reilly's (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don't get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

Next when the engine is cold... Open the hood and locate the radiator cooling fan. Next turn the AC and fan switch off. Start the car and see if the radiator cooling fan is turning. It should not be. Next, turn on the AC and the fan blower on high... Then look at the cooling fan... Is it turning? It should be. Please let me know what you find.
