I have the vehicle listed above Limited with a 4.0L zj. It will not shift at all acts like it's in 1st gear all the time, won't go over 30 mph and the rpm's run really really high but won't accelerate. The only check engine light that I have is for the governor pressure sensor and solenoid, and 02 sensor which I changed both of the parts and the check engine light still says it's them. I personally think it's the transmission speed sensor or vehicle speed sensor (I don't know what one my jeep has). I know my transmission is the 42re. My question is, could the transmission speed sensor be bad and not have a code? Because I haven't gotten a code for the transmission speed sensor. Thank you in advance.

Good morning,

Let us start with the code that was set. I need the code number.

If you changed the governor solenoid, were or are you able to read the actual and desired pressure on a scan tool?

If it was a speed sensor, it would code. It may be more than this. It could be an internal failure in the valve body.
